By: Sarah on 23/06/2020 Here is Chris Griffin's wintry painting of St Tudors Church, Mynyddislwyn.
The church is in the borough of Islwyn, on the mountain between Blackwood and Abercarn. The records show that there has been a church building on this site since 1102; the current church being built in 1820. We see it strange that churches are built in such remote areas but at the time the industry would have been mostly farming so they would have been in the centre of a rural community.
